Software Testing Forum Terms and Conditions of Membership

These terms and conditions, together with our Privacy Policy  will govern your membership with the Software Testing Forum. Please also see the Legal Terms which will govern your use of the Software Testing Forum Website www.thesoftwaretestingforum.com

 

In these terms and conditions the following words shall bear the following meaning:

Software Testing Forum means the Software Testing Forum which is a wholly owned and operated product of 31 Media Limited, a company registered in England and Wales – number: 06127830, registered office at 41-42 Daisy Business Park, 19-35b Sylvan Grove, London SE15 1PD.

 

Member means any Member whether individual or corporate of Software Testing Forum or any person or persons intending to or who have applied for membership of Software Testing Forum upon the terms and conditions contained herein.

 

Membership Year the Membership Year will run for 12 months from the date a Member joins Software Testing Forum. For Corporate Membership the Membership Year will run for 12 months from the date that the Lead Group Member joins Software Testing Forum.

 

Event or Events means any of the activities or events organised by Software Testing Forum for its Members.

 

Website means the Software Testing Forum Website www.thesoftwaretestingforum.com

 

  1. Membership

Members of Software Testing Forum will be invited to attend events organised by Software Testing Forum. Details of such events will be uploaded on the Website as well as being emailed to all Members by e-newsletter, as well as by phone where possible.

 

All other membership benefits (such as discounts for specific services) can be found within the Members Pack that is available on the website. Software Testing Forum cannot guarantee the availability of Member to Member benefits or offers, and any goods or services provided may be subject to additional conditions.

 

  1. Membership Details

All applications for membership of Software Testing Forum must be received in writing via the membership form, that can be downloaded from the website, or will be sent to you by a member of the team.

 

On completion of an application form, each new Member will receive a welcome pack, which will contain membership information. The welcome pack will be either emailed or posted to the postal address is stated on the application form or the email address provided.

 

On acceptance of the membership application by Software Testing Forum, Members shall be bound during the continuance of membership by these Terms and Conditions including any amendments made in accordance with the procedure set out below.

 

Software Testing Forum reserves the right at all times and in its absolute discretion to determine the number of Members in Software Testing Forum and may accept or reject applications for membership as it feels fit.

 

The annual membership fee for individual membership starts at £349 + VAT per year and allows one individual to become a member of Software Testing Forum. The annual membership fee for corporate membership is £1700 + VAT per year and allows up to five individuals to become a member of Software Testing Forum (the prices stated related solely to end users. Vendor member rates differ and can be viewed by visiting: www.thesoftwaretestingforum.com/membership-options/vendor-supplier-consultant/) Where a corporate member is activated the Lead Member will be the main point of contact for all membership enquiries and will be contacted when renewal is due.

 

All prices are subject to change without prior notification

 

You are welcome to add new members to your membership at any time by contacting Software Testing Forum by calling 0870 863 6930. All members within a group membership are linked to the lead member and are due for renewal 12 months from the date that the Lead Member joined.  Your company may want to re-allocate membership should someone leave the company. If this is the case you must inform us in writing. We will make one lead member change free of charge during a 12 month period thereafter an administration fee of £49 + VAT will be charged per change.

 

All membership monies are payable in sterling and upon receipt of a VAT invoice. Membership fees are revised annually and will be notified to Members in writing.

 

  1. Software Testing Forum Members’ Area

Members can use their membership to create their own personal login and password details to enter the Software Testing Forum Members area of the Website. Within this Members only area, Members will have access to a directory of Members but the use of data from the directory for commercial purposes of any sort is not permitted.

 

Members will be asked to fill in personal details such as name, e-mail address, membership type (individual or corporate), services they offer, phone number, website details and whether or not they are willing to offer other Members a discount or other special offers on their services. Members will have the opportunity to choose which of their personal details they would like listing in the Members directory, which can be viewed by all Members.

 

Software Testing Forum reserves the right to refuse access to the secure Members only pages. Software Testing Forum shall not be liable for any loss or damages whatsoever arising from your inability to access any pages on the site.

 

Any Member wishing to change, add or delete any information on themselves held on the Members only sections of the Website are able to do so by logging in and amending the details. If you are unable to login or access this area or you forget your login or password, please call 0870 863 6930

 

Information held on the Software Testing Forum Members Area pages is subject to the Software Testing Forum Privacy Policy

 

Members are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their membership number, login details and passwords, and for all activities that occur under their membership number, login details and passwords, whether by themselves or anyone else using their login details and passwords. Members must ensure that they have any permissions or consents required to include material or links in the Members directory.

 

  1. Discussion Forums

Members can participate in a Software Testing Forum discussion forum.

 

The Software Testing Forum Discussion area that is a public system and as such Software Testing Forum takes no responsibility for the views expressed in messages posted to any discussion. Any views expressed are those of individuals, and do not necessarily reflect the views or policies of Software Testing Forum or 31 Media Limited

 

Software Testing Forum does not verify, confirm or accept any responsibility for any of the information, advice or material provided on the Software Testing Forum Forums. If you use any of the information, advice or material posted on these forums, you do so solely at your own risk.

 

Software Testing Forum accepts no obligation to monitor the use of the forums but reserves the right to remove without notice any material posted to any discussion which Software Testing Forum deems to be offensive or in any way wholly inappropriate to the nature of the discussion.

 

Members agree not to:
post any material which infringes third party intellectual property rights;

post any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive or otherwise objectionable on the Discussion Forum;

use the Discussion Forum for any commercial purpose or to operate surveys, contests or chain letters;

use the Discussion Forum to make complaints against individuals and/or organisations.

 

  1. Terminating Membership

Membership is to be renewed annually. Software Testing Forum will email each Member once the membership is coming up to renewal. If a Member does not pay the annual membership fee then the membership is not continued and the Member will not have the benefit of membership.

 

Software Testing Forum reserves the right to expel Members or to prevent any Member from participating in any Event or from renewing membership if the Member puts the organisation into disrepute or if a Member continuously fails to attend events which they have signed up to or if the Member is misusing the membership forum or the discussion forum (for example, using the discussion forum to send chain letters).

 

If, for whatever reason, a Member wishes to terminate their Membership, notice must be provided in writing to: The Membership Manager, Software Testing Forum 41-42 Daisy Business Park, 19-35 Sylvan Grove, London, SE15 1PD, any other form of communication in this regard is not deemed acceptable. We regret we are unable to offer refunds if membership is cancelled for whatever reason before the renewal date unless we receive notice of cancellation in within 14 days of taking out membership.

 

  1. Events

Members will be informed of forthcoming events by e-newsletter or on the Website or by telephone and will be required to pay the Event attendance monies (if required) prior to the Event taking place (additional terms and conditions may apply).

 

Members shall not hold Software Testing Forum responsible or liable in any way whatsoever for the cancellation for whatever reason of an Event. If a Member has signed up to attend an Event but is unable to attend the Event, that Member must contact Software Testing Forum Head Office 0870 863 6930 (for cancellation of event attendance other terms and conditions may apply)

 

  1. Variation of Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions may be revised from time to time. If they are revised, we will place the revised version on the website and so we advise that you check them from time to time. It will be your responsibility to keep up-to date with all such changes and your membership renewal and continued use of the Website shall be deemed acceptance of any changes to these terms and conditions.

 

  1. Data Protection and Intellectual Property

We will respect the privacy of your data which you supply to us in accordance with our Privacy Policy and forms part of these terms and conditions, and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and any other applicable data protection legislation. You agree that it is your responsibility to keep your data accurate and up to date and to send us new or revised data where appropriate. You further agree that we may use your data as set out in our Privacy Policy.

 

It is your responsibility to keep your password/membership number and log-in details confidential. Our security measures depend on you complying with this obligation and we are not responsible for any breach of your privacy due to your failure either to keep your password/membership number secure or to use the other security devices correctly.

 

We will use your data to administer your membership and Events you attend. When you attend an Event your name may be included on a delegate list. Where you obtain information about other Members you must use this in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

 

Other Members may also use the personal data you make available in the Members directory. Do not make any information public which you do not want other Members to see.

You acknowledge that the internet is not a completely secure medium, and we therefore cannot be responsible for breaches of security arising out of intentional and/or unauthorised attempts to access the Site, for example, by computer hackers. In addition, we are not responsible for the use made of your personal data by other Members who access it through the Site.

 

  1. Governing Law

These terms and conditions shall be interpreted in accordance with English law and all disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
